This week I headed out to the vineyard and drove around with Ethan (assistant winemaker/vineyard manager) to capture some images of the grapes flowering. This is a critical time in the vineyard as the flowers are self pollinating and the fruit is setting, which determines the outcome of our crop and eventually the wine in your glass. This year we are looking great! We have the perfect weather and conditions for the fruit set and some of the clusters are already shedding some the flowers to show tiny grapes. Also during this time, the shoots (or the arms of the vines) are starting to grow towards the sky, which by fall will grow to be 1-2 yards long. So, here begins the growing process of the grapes!
