This week we have Miss Chalan Lind who is our tasting room manager. She has been with us since the opening of our tasting room in 2011 and she is the one that most people meet from Parrish Family Vineyard. In fact, most of you probably know her already! She knows wine (especially great wine) and is our star of hospitality. Whether she is at an industry function, meeting with vendors in the area, or pouring you a glass at the tasting room…it’s easy to see why she is the socialite of the PFV gang. For those of you that haven’t met Chalan, take a moment to meet this warm, welcoming spirit with a bright smile and awesome laugh…
Having been a local for a long time, what is a must people should go/do/see here in Central Cal and why?
The Central Coast is one of the most enchanting places in the world. I really enjoy exploring and continuing to learn about our fantastic wine country, there are so many different styles of wine making & interesting varietals to learn about. Hearst Castle is another must see. Not only is the drive up Highway 1 gorgeous, Hearst Castle has a majestic presence that can only be seen and felt in person. Lastly, one has to see Morro Rock, in Morro Bay, at sunset with their favorite glass of wine or cocktail in hand. The pink and orange hues reflecting off the ocean are magical. [sounds good, right now!]
On your weekend, what could we find you up to?
I am a social maniac who is blessed to be surrounded by spectacular people. So you will normally find me out and about attending industry events, enjoying the newest restaurants, exploring our local beaches and my favorite thing to do is have family style dinners with my closest friends where we eat and drink like kings & queens.
What TV show could you watch a marathon of because it’s just that good?
I have two: Seinfeld & Sex & the City
Name a song that you would request for karaoke and why?
Biz Markie “Just a Friend” because it’s hilarious, anyone can sing it and it’s really interactive. You can’t help but have fun with that song. [Hahaha.]
You’re hosting the ultimate dinner party…tell us what you would serve and have at this party?
I would serve an amazing Ciopinot paired with a 2005 Drouhin Charmes Chambertin Pinot Noir ! Mmmmm.
Any hobbies or talents, you would love to share with us?
I am really great on go carts 🙂 and VERY competitive.
Lastly, if you were a wine (any varietal), what would you be?
Tannat: Beautiful color, it has the highest level of procyanidins (antioxidants), it ages well and for those with patience, is well worth the wait. 🙂
